On Monday President Muhammadu Buhari conducted a virtual meeting with state governors. One of his media aides, Bashir Ahmaad, verified this through his Twitter account. Buhari participated in a video conference meeting at the State House Council Chambers, Abuja.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, led his counterparts in the online meeting.
Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Finance, Budget, National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Mr Godwin Emefiele; and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami.
The newly-installed Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, were also in attendance.
However, Buhari has canceled his national broadcast to the nation, which was previously scheduled for Monday night.
The Nigerians are now waiting for the Boss Mustapha-led Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to bring them to speed on the next steps, as the first phase of the ease of lockdown is zipping today.
