Jadon Sancho Accepts Contract With Manchester United
Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has officially decided to move to Old Trafford in this summer transfer period on personal terms with Manchester United.
The Sun reports that Sancho is set to become Man United’s first signing of the summer after months of secret talks between both parties.
Newsmen recalls that Sancho had drawn the interest of Man United in the past few days.
Man United are willing to offer Sancho the no.7 shirt, in a bid to lure him to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
The Red Devils are believed to be leading the race to sign the 20-year-old from Dortmund for a club-record fee.
Sancho has scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund so far this season.
Meanwhile, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke admitted last month that the Bundesliga giants would not stand in Sancho’s way if he wants to leave the club.
Watzke also said that any suitor would have to pay their massive asking price for the England youngster despite the financial ramifications of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
“Even before the Coronavirus outbreak, we said that we prefer that Jadon stays with us,” Watzke told Bild.
“At the end of the day, however, you always have to respect what the player wants.
“I will clearly say that even the very rich clubs should not believe that they can come here to snap up bargains. We do not have to sell anyone for less than they are worth.”
Rashford confirms his best position to Solskjaer
Manchester United midfielder, Marcus Rashford, has confirmed that he favors left-wing football. Speaking to UTD Podcast, Rashford said that while he acts as the lead player, he is still “isolated”
The 22-year-old has excelled in both attacking roles this season, scoring 19 goals in 31 appearances, before suffering a back injury in January.
With Anthony Martial assuming the No.9 position when fit, Rashford has revealed he enjoys playing from the left, because it gives him room to create.
“When you are on the left, you can create a lot more things on your own, giving that little bit more to the team.
“Whereas when you are playing up front, sometimes you are isolated and need someone in midfield who can find passes for 90 minutes of a game, so you can disappear in games sometimes as a number nine.
“When I transitioned to a number nine when I was younger, that’s the bit that I struggled with as I was always someone who wanted to express myself on the ball,” Rashford said.
Chelsea Wants To Sign Jordan Pickford
Chelsea made an eye-catchy contract in 2018 as they splashed a record £71million payment to sign atletico Madrid’s Kepa Arrizabalaga. The 25-year-old has not explained his price tag, though, and the Blues are trying to substitute him.
Kepa was far from compelling this season so it’s possible that Chelsea would find him expendable. True Madrid reportedly has an interest in recruiting him.
In case Kepa moves on, the Blues are expected to turn their attention of Pickford who is believed to be valued at £43.5million.
The 26-year-old Everton star has come under strong criticism this season for his performances with many pundits even questioning whether he should retain the England number spot.
However, Pickford remains Everton’s one of the best players, having kept 34 clean sheets in 120 Toffees appearances.
Carlo Ancelotti is a big admirer of Pickford and therefore could be reluctant to sell him. However, a lucrative offer on the table could change their stance.
Pickford is an excellent shot-stopper and is very good with the ball at his feet. But the former Sunderland goalkeeper has this bad habit of making errors but with a good defence ahead of him, he can prove to be a very good addition.
