Gambari, Buhari’s New Chief Of Staff Receives Latter From All the Governors

Governors of the 36 states in Nigeria have told President Muhmmadu Buhari of their support and cooperation with Ibrahim Gambari, new Chief of Staff.

He said this on Sunday, in a letter to the former Foreign Minister and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations.

This was confirmed by Kayode Fayemi, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).

Fayemi, Ekiti State Governor, said that he and his colleagues were delighted with the appointment to “the high office.”

It Read:

“As you know, this appointment comes with great responsibilities and unconventional demands requiring candour, discipline, professionalism, loyalty, focus, diligence and the highest level of service.

“Your credentials, pedigree, experience and career trajectory both locally and globally speak to your capacity. As Governors, we are excited about this appointment.

“We are available at the sub-national level to work with you as you strive to make a positive difference in our country even more so now with the exacerbation of our circumstances precipitated by the volatility of oil prices and the COVID-19 pandemic”.

The declaration wished Gambari the help of God and the best of luck in the “very necessary and difficult mission”.

The selection of Gambari was revealed on 13 May.

He is Chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU) in Ilorin, and President of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Pro-Chancellor / Governing Committee.

Gambar bears the official rank of Leader of the Nigerian Federal Republic (CFR).
