COVID-19: Lagos govt has reported 88 new cases as toll hits 2006

The government of the state of Lagos reported 88 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. Professor Akin Abayomi, the state commissioner for hygiene, confirmed this on his official Twitter page.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Lagos State to 2006.

His tweet reads: “Update as at May 12, 2020, 88 new COVID19 infections were confirmed on May 11, 2020 in Lagos, while another 57 cases were confirmed on May 12, 2020.

“This brings total #COVID19Lagos cases to 2006.”

Meanwhile, 26 coronavirus patients were discharged on Wednesday.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated that the total number of COVID-19 patients in the state discharged so far is 528.
