NIN is compulsory for JAMB UTME registration, FG confirms, The Federal Government has highlighted that it is compulsory necessity for UTME registration to use the National Identification Number (NIN). This was made clear in Abuja during the 2020 Ministerial press briefing by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

He directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), to work out modalities with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for implementation.

According to Adamu, “the use of the National Identity Number (NIN) for JAMB registration by candidates is now a government policy.

“JAMB is working closely with the National Identity Management Commission, to ensure the sustainability of this policy and eliminate multiple registrations,” he said.

He added that candidates would have to use their National Identity Cards all the way to universities and other tertiary institutions and even beyond.

Adamu also revealed that the government has built, equipped, and standardized over 650 JAMB examination centres while planning to build additional 800 centres in 2021 and 1,000 in 2022 and 1,200 in 2023.

If you are yet to get your NIN, and intend to register for the 2021 UTME, you are advised to do so as soon as possible as we expect the 2021 UTME registration to commence any moment from now. 2021 UTME Candidates are equally advised to start preparing for their exams using the JAMB CBT softwares and JAMB CBT app

NIN Application Guidelines and Requirements for Students.

We have now outlined below, the simplest procedures available for any student to obtain his/her NIN. As it stands, even the registration for 2021 JAMB’s UTME may only be possible for candidates that have not registered and obtained their NINs. The importance of getting your NIN now cannot be overemphasized, as it may lead to the inability of a student to complete certain important tasks in schools or NYSC in the near future, hence the need to obtain it now and relax.

In view of this, we deem it necessary to provide all students, and indeed prospective UTME candidates with the guidelines to register and obtain their NIN before the 2021 UTME registration begins as the registration is expected to commence soon. 2021 UTME Candidates are equally advised to start preparing for their exams using the JAMB CBT softwares and JAMB CBT app, NIN Application Guidelines and Requirements for Students.

What is NIN?

NIN simply means National Identification Number. It consists of 11 non- intelligible numbers randomly chosen and assigned to an individual after the completion of enrolment into the National Identity Database (NIDB).

Once a NIN is assigned to an individual, it can never be reassigned, given or used by another person – that makes it unique in nature. In the case of the demise of an individual, his/her NIN is retired once a death certificate is presented to the Commission and the individual’s death is established.

The NIN is used to tie all records about an individual in the database and is also used to establish or verify his/her identity. All citizens and legal residents in Nigeria, from age zero (birth) and above are eligible to enrol for their NINs.

First, Check if you already have a NIN

The first step before you proceed to register to get your NIN is to check if you already have one. To know this, with the phone used to register for the NIN, Dial *346# on your phone to retrieve your NIN. Once your NIN is displayed, you can either screenshot it, or note it down somewhere. Please note that you’re not to share your NIN information on any social media platform. You can however share it when requested by trusted institutions. Getting your NIN by failing *346# is totally FREE OF CHARGE on all the Nigerian Mobile Networks including MTN, AIRTEL, GLO and 9mobile.

Chelsea Sack Frank Lampard

Chelsea Sack Frank Lampard

Chelsea Sack Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard will be sacked as Chelsea head coach on Monday, according to widespread reports.

It is said former Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel will take charge at Stamford Bridge just a month after leaving the Ligue 1 champions.

In eight Premier League games, news of Lampard’s departure is evidently expected to follow a streak of two wins.

The Blues’ record goalscorer was appointed in July 2019 and led them to a fourth-place finish and the FA Cup final in his debut campaign as a top-flight coach.

Chelsea invested heavily ahead of the 2020-21 season and were top of the table at the start of December.

But a dreadful run has seen Chelsea slide down to ninth, 11 points off the pace, reportedly costing club great Lampard his job the day after a 3-1 FA Cup win against Luton Town.

READ ALSO: Abraham Hits Hat-trick As Chelsea Wins Luton Town 3-1

Lampard’s failure to get the best out of an expensively assembled side appeared to heavily contribute to his demise.

Timo Werner continued his miserable run of form with a penalty miss against Luton, his only goal since November having come in the previous round of the cup at home to Morecambe.

Germany colleague Kai Havertz has netted only once in the Premier League, with his most recent three starts in the competition all coming in defeats.

Havertz was in the line-up at Everton when Chelsea, top after beating Leeds United in their first match in December, went down 1-0.

A late defeat at Wolves followed and victory over West Ham could not arrest the slump, as struggling rivals Arsenal eased past the Blues on Boxing Day.

Held by Aston Villa, Chelsea were then outclassed by Manchester City before a narrow win at relegation-battling Fulham eased the pressure only slightly.

Defeat at Leicester City – Premier League contenders while Chelsea flounder – was apparently the final straw, despite progress in the cup.

In Tuchel, a compatriot of Werner and Havertz, Chelsea would bring in a coach who won consecutive titles in France and also guided PSG to last season’s Champions League final.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss looks to have been preferred to Massimiliano Allegri and ex-Chelsea coach Rafael Benitez.
