This is untrue as the university has abolished all forms of selling of handouts by lecturers, while the book review committee of the university oversees all publications, and sales to Students only made through the university bookshop.

Answers to questions may be entered into the computer in either of two ways.

Answers are recorded directly into the computer. The keyboard shortcuts are eight in number and the 8 keys are A, B, C, D, P, N, S and R.
Key A stands for option A. Press the A key on the keyboard to select option A as your answer to a question.
Press B if you think the correct option is B.
Press C if you feel that the correct answer to your question is C.

5. Begin with the Use of English paper and then move to another subject you know best.
You may be asked to start with Use of English for at least thirty to forty minutes before moving on to other papers but whether you are asked to or not.
It is advisable to do that because if you have prepared well, you can finish it fast in about thirty minutes and bag good marks there.
Besides, this will give you confidence to take on other quite difficult subjects.
When you are done with English, proceed to the next subject that you are strongest in.
The reason for this is obvious.
You will most likely answer questions more correctly and quickly in subjects you have strength in and this will give you even more confidence to continue.
6. Don’t spend more than a minute on any question.
Depending on the types of questions, you may need to spend more time on some than others.
Some questions can be easily answered before you even finish reading the question.
These kinds of questions should take you not more than thirty seconds to answer.
Others require logical reasoning and some calculation (for example, science-related subjects) and will likely take more time.
No matter how much time they take, please do not allow the time you spend on them to exceed a minute, if you are going to finish your exam on time.
While the question seems to be taking more time than expected, look at the options and check if you have gotten enough information from your calculation and reasoning as the case may be to infer an answer.
If you have, please choose the most logical answer and proceed.
Speed as much as accuracy is very important in any examination.
7. Select an answer for every question as you meet them.
Had the examination been a pencil and paper type, one would have said to start with the questions you know best and then proceed to the others afterward because from flipping through your exam paper, you will be able to easily identify these easy questions.
However, this style cannot be easily achieved in a computer-based exam.
in JAMB CBT exam, you will only able to see one question on the screen at a time, even though there will be a provision on the screen to jump to a question number.
When you choose to answer the questions chronologically – according to how they are numbered – fine and good.
And you choose to pick questions randomly as your instinct guides you and answer – also good.
Whichever method you choose, make sure you provide an answer whether you are sure or not for every question before your screen as you meet them.
The reason to do this is because you may not have any time left to go back to those questions.
If you so choose, you can find a way to note questions you were not sure of should you end up having enough time left to go back.
The only questions you may leave and come back to are those ones you are sure you know but that may take too much time to solve.
Nevertheless, when you keep doing this over and over in an attempt to find the simpler questions, you may end up solving little or no questions when the time is up.
Remember, once you run out of time, the computer will not hear, “Please sir, just two more minutes”, neither will it go around collecting other people’s scripts while you quickly shade blank spaces on your answer script.
Your computer will automatically submit your exam for assessment the very moment your time is up and you will have to stop even if you have not answered a single question.
8. Guess logically by eliminating answers to questions you are not sure of.
Oftentimes, you will encounter questions for which you have an idea about but are not sure of the correct answer.
Some other times, they will be questions you seem to have no idea about.
However, while many students would usually resort to tum-bum tum-bum – a haphazard pattern of guessing answers to questions with the hope of being lucky – that is not the best resort.
The best way to face such questions and provide very reasonable and likely answers is by logically guessing by elimination.
This can be likened to the 50:50 lifeline in the “Who wants to be a millionaire” television programme where the computer takes away two incorrect options and leaves two options – one being the correct answer and the other an incorrect option.
After reading the questions, if you have prepared properly, when you go over the options, you will discover at least one or two that cannot be the answer.
Eliminate them and then work with the remaining options, that way you would have increased your chances or probability of picking the correct answer.

You will also need to make a payment of N700 to the CBT centre, in order for you to take the UTME Mock Exam.

The registration for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) earlier scheduled to commence today, 8th April 2021 has been postponed. This was contained in a statement by JAMB’s Head of Media and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
He stated that the development was caused by some unforeseen circumstances occasioned by the board’s determined effort to have a NIN integration.
According to him, the Board didn’t place the 2021 UTME/DE registration advertorial as it was yet to complete the process of a smooth pin vending and candidate access to the registration app for the 2021 UTME/DE.
He added that the challenge is being resolved and once that is done, all processes shall commence. Candidates are therefore requested to exercise some patience. “The process shall be up and running shortly for our advertisement to be rollout so that candidates can begin the creation of profile.

In line with the released timetable for the 2021 UTME, JAMB confirmed that the 2021 UTME main exam will begin on 5th June, 2021 and it will run until 19th June, 2021. For the successful conduct of both registration and exam, JAMB had earlier released the Official list of approved JAMB CBT centres for 2021 UTME/DE registration. There are over 700 CBT centres for you to choose from. You are hereby advised to select a centre that will be convenient for you throughout the entire process.

About JAMB
Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) is a renowned Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions. The board conducts entrance examinations for prospective undergraduates into Nigerian universities. The board is charged with the responsibility to administer similar examinations for applicants to Ni23rian public and private monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of educations.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board was established by an Act of 1978, subsequently amended in 1989 and 1993. By the virtue of the Act, the Board is empowered to be responsible for the:
general control over the conduct of matriculation examinations into all Universities, Monotechnics, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education;
appointment of examiners, moderators, invigilators, members of the subject panels and committees and other persons with respect to matriculation examinations;
placement of suitably qualified candidates in the tertiary institutions in collaboration with those institutions.
In furtherance of these functions, the Board conducts a matriculation examination for candidates seeking admissions to tertiary institutions within the country. This examination is known as the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Eligibility for the Examination
Those eligible to sit the UTME are holders or prospective holders (those awaiting results) of the following qualifications or their equivalents:
the West African School Certificate (WASC)
the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE)
the National Technical Certificate or the National Business Certificate (NTC/NBC)
Teachers’ Grade II Certificate
Candidates who have sat or are scheduled to sit for examinations in any of these qualifications in the year of application may also sit for the UTME.
Structure of the Examination
The UTME is conducted once a year in the computer based test mode. The test is a two-hour multiple-choice in four subjects, with a compulsory paper, the Use of English and three other subjects of a candidate’s choice. Prospective candidates are advised to seek the advice of their teachers, parents/guardians or career counselors in their choice of elective subjects for the UTME. Candidates are encouraged to visit the CBT practice test platform to familiarize themselves with features of the computer-based test at no extra cost.
Admission Requirements
Prospective candidates for the UTME are to note that for them to secure admissions into tertiary education programme, they have to:
attain an appreciable standard of pass in the UTME in the relevant subjects;
have credit passes in five relevant subjects in the appropriate WAEC/NECO SSCE/Teachers’ Grade II examination.
The credit/merit passes in question should be attained at not more than two sittings. Normally, credit passes Mathematics and English Language are required for all tertiary education courses except where it is stated other wise.
In addition to the general entry requirements specified above, candidates must meet any other specific entry.
Candidates are therefore advised to consult the appropriate sections of the UTME/DE brochure for information about the specific entry requirements for different programmes.
It is also important to note that admissions are subject to general guidelines enunciated from time to time by the proprietors of higher educational institutions. Such guidelines may set out admissions quotas or implementation principles which the Board and the institutions are expected to uphold.
Beware of Examination Malpractice
Increasingly, candidates, examination officials and other persons are yielding to the temptation to cheat in examinations. Cheating (or aiding or abetting cheating) in examinations is criminal act punishable in law.

Punishment provided include imprisonment for 3-5 years or a fine of ₦50,000 or more, or both prison sentence and fine.
By provision of the decree, the following are considered criminal acts:
Cheating, use of electronic device, impersonation, collusion with others with the intent to cheat or secure unfair advantage for self or for another, disturbance at examinations, misconduct in the course of an examination, failure to obey lawful orders of supervisors, proctors or agents of the examination body, forgery of result notification, breach of duty, conspiracy, aiding, multiple application, etc.

Aptitude Test
The aptitude test will take place either online (remotely) or at designated centers to be communicated to shortlisted applicants. Do I need to be accepted into a particular institution, before I apply for the scholarships?
Applicants must have gained full-time admission into a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution.
Can I change my profile details?
Yes, you can. You are responsible for the correctness of the details provided. To correct errors after submission of your application, kindly log on to your scholastica profile, click on “My Account”, a dropdown appears, then click on “My Messages”. You will be directed to a page where you can directly send a message to the scholarship administrator stating your corrections. The corrections will be effected and a mail sent to you to confirming it.
Can I change the course (programme) or institution in my application and can I add information to my application after submitting?
You cannot make any changes or additions to your application once submitted, and the deadline has passed. Applications that are not complete when submitted will be cancelled and will not be considered. However, if the application deadline has not passed, you can edit / make changes to your application online.
Where can I upload my passport photograph and other required documents?
During the creation of your profile, click on the tab “Passport Photograph” and upload your passport in JPEG format, not larger than 200KB in size. To upload other documents, click on the tab “Documents” select appropriate document from the drop down list and upload.
What is the maximum size and image format of passport photograph and other required documents?
Each document size should not be more than 200KB and the image format for your pass-port must be in JPEG, other files can be PDF, DOC, DOCX.
My course of study is not listed in my institution list of courses in the online application form. What do I do?
If your course of study is not in your institution’s course list in the online application form, send an email to [email protected] stating the name of your course of study, Faculty, CGPA Scale and name of institution. You will be notified in less than 24 hours via email once it has been added. Note that this pertains to adding the course to your institution’s list of offered courses only, it does not essentiallly make the course eligible for application. Carefully read the Eligibility/Requirements page for the list of eligible courses.
How do I know my application has been received?
When you submit your application online, you automatically receive confirmation of receipt by email. Please note that your email provider may see this confirmation email as spam, so check if your junk or spam folder contains an email sent by [email protected] You can also visit your profile to view the status of your application.
I am unable to submit my NOAC application before the deadline. Can I submit it after the deadline?
No. E-Application closes at the stipulated deadline.
Do I need to pay to facilitate the application?
